————————————————————————

*** TROOPER ***

DJ Trooper is an electric force to be reckoned with. His broad musical expertise spanning three decades comes alive in his mixes, bringing the party vibes alive. Never failing to smash the techno and old skool, it’s rave time when Trooper’s in the house.
Trooper has contributed to the legacy of the London party circuit, playing at club nights such as Smash Techno, Stay Up Forever 100, Stay Up Forever after parties, Philanthropy, Braingravy and Lucid, and alongside DJs such Chris Liberator, Aaron Liberator, DDR, Geezer, Gizelle Rebel Yelle, Rachel Rackitt, Sterling Moss, Birinight, DJ Ant, Jerome Hill, Thermobee, Tassid, A.P, OB1, Austin Corrosive and many more.

On to top all of this, Trooper has recently returned to the studio, writing tracks with DDR, Steve Mills and The Geezer. His tracks have been released on the legendary ‘Hazchem’ label, Abusive 303, Project 303 and Project 909 with more tracks ready to go. Keep your ear to the dance floor and listen out for Trooper’s unique energy and sounds.

Over the past 10 years, Trooper has gone from raver on the dance floor to playing on many sound systems including Freebase, E1S, Malfaiteurs, Manik, Storm, Hackney Sounds and plays regularly on the Stinky Pink, Hub and Krysis rigs as resident DJ storming the dance floor with his own take on Acid Techno, also enjoying pushing the speakers to the limits on various rigs at Frenchtek dropping the beats that captured his heart all those years ago. But with Trooper’s personal history of dance music and broad musical knowledge, you can also hear him playing a broad spectrum of sounds such as Old Skool 91/92 Rave, Hardcore, Jungle, Drum & Bass, Progressive House, Acid House, Breakbeat and Electro.

But Trooper’s journey with dance music began in 1991 when he was just 16 years of age and was taken out by some older mates to legendary raves such as Elevation, Dance 91, Raindance, Fantazia, Yikes and Interdance, as well as Spiral Tribal and Bedlam sound system parties on the underground free party scene.

The next year, he was introduced to mixing vinyl on the 1210’s by DJ SDR, owner of Shoebox Records. From that point, there was no turning back.

In 1994, Trooper started getting involved with the local music scene and began working at Ruffhouse Records in Slough, who ran Menace sound system.

Always up for a party, he was given the title nickname ‘Trooper’. He was always the last man standing, shortly establishing his turntable skills as ‘DJ Trooper’ on the underground party circuit, playing Jungle and Drum & Bass at parties in London and the South East.

Music House in Holloway Road, London, played a big part in Trooper’s life. Top Drum & Bass DJ’s went there regularly to cut their latest tracks onto dub plate fresh for the weekend raves. Trooper got involved distributing the ‘Ravescene’ magazine and writing party reviews for raves such as Telepathy, AWOL, Roast, Innersense and Jungle Fever.

Trooper and fellow music comrade, DJ SDR, started the record label ‘Freestyle Flava’ in 1996, experimenting with different styles and beats in the studio under the guise ‘Point 2’. They produced some rockers including ‘Wait 1 Minute’, which was featured on Tony de Vit’s ‘Live in Tokyo’ album. In the studio, they wrote Trip Hop and Broken Beats inspired by Ninja Tune club nights at the legendary Blue Note in Hoxton, London.

After taking a few years out at the end of the 90’s, Trooper returned to the dance floor in the new millennium and got involved with the Hard House scene. The hard beats and vibes reignited the fire in his rave heart, but something was definitely missing until he discovered the underground London squat party Techno scene and from that point it was full steam ahead.

So keep your ear to the dance floor and listen out for Trooper’s unique energy and sounds.

*** MARCELLO PERRI ***

Over the last 18 years Marcello Perri has been rocking the London Underground Techno scene to the rhythms of his hard, melodic and uplifitng grooves. With his smiling face behind the decks, razor sharp beats Marcello has become one of the most sought after DJs on the London party circuit.

Born in Sardinia and involved in rock bands from an early age, Marcello left Italy for London at the age of 19 and has never looked back. After dabbling around with Hard Acid Trance Marcello found the sound he was looking for at the illegal London squat parties and was soon playing alongside Acid Techno heroes such as Chris Liberator, Geezer, and especially D.A.V.E. The Drummer.

From playing his first squat party in 2001 it was only a short time until he was playing at massive club events such as Chemical Warfare, Free Energy, We Want You, and Family Groove, as well as being a regular on the underground soundsystems such as Malfiteurs, Underground Sound, Restless Natives and especially Manik.

On top of his UK gigs Marcello also kicked off his international DJ career with parties all over Europe including Spain, Poland, Italy, Czech and Bulgaria before starting his South American conquest playing in Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil.

As well as DJing Marcello is also responsible for producing pounding Techno beats that have been destroying the dancefloor on labels such as Hydraulix, Amigos, Bass Assault, Dark Expressions, Elektrax,Nacked Lunch,Techno Factory and many more…

Marcello loves all kinds of Techno from the banging UK style of Henry Cullen, Glenn Wilson, Mike Humphries and Ant through to the European sounds of Adam Beyer, Patrick Skoog, Henrik B, A.Paul, AXel Karakasis and Spiros Kaloumenos.

You can catch Marcello mixing on WWW.TECHNO.FM every 3rd Friday of the month as resident DJ on ThermoBee’s ‘Live From Hackney’ radio show. And as one of the Hydraulix Party promoters (alongside D.A.V.E. the Drummer) you can see him playing at some of the biggest parties in London!

10pm-11pm : HaYLo BOoM

————————————————————————

*** HaYLO BoOM ***

Haylo Boom is a Junglist, Tekno, Drum and Basser, on a Hip Hop, Old Skool and Acid House trip. With a great passion for music, she loves to spin different styles, mashing up any dance floor creating a positive vibe.

Haylo Boom has always been a selector, listening to underground dance music since the late 80’s with her family, including her mum, spinning dance tunes on the decks. One of her alarms for school was Orbital’s ‘Chimes’. With even her granddad as a DJ, to be a DJ selector seemed to be her destiny and she has also inherited a selection of the parents’ old skool tunes.

In 1998, Haylo Boom connected with the free party scene and found the magic gate through the ‘ Spiral Tribe’ parties. This new sound of Techno music opened up her eyes and ears to all kinds of beats and sounds. From this connection a new family grew on the London underground free party Techno scene, with the legendary Underground Sounds, Twisted, Restless Natives, Scally Wags, Malfaiteurs and Manik sound systems.

It was from these days that Haylo Boom became involved with the underground free party scene and is still dedicated to the scene, playing out regularly on various sound systems in and around London, as well as organising and promoting underground parties.

But it wasn’t until her decks finally came out of retirement from serving the parties every weekend on the Manik sound system, and returned home, that Haylo Boom began mastering her musical DJ skills and spinning tunes at the parties.

Haylo Boom nowadays is a key active component of the underground dance scene in London, involved in organising parties and spinning vinyl all over at various squats, raves, pubs and clubs, including the Rhythm Factory, InSpiral Lounge, The Garage, FuNky MoFoS and many more. She has also played all around Spain and at French TEK, plus many more underground raves around the UK and Europe.

So get ready to hear the sound of Haylo Boom tonight… Enjoy the ride!!!
