This month The Rebel Yelle Show kicks off October and says good bye to the summer with an autumn banger. Gizelle Rebel Yelle will be welcoming her special guest DJ JEFF AMADEUS. Jeff is known for his wizardry 3 decks mixing, playing a variety of styles of dance music from House to Techno fused with acid and hardcore heavy beats. But as there are only two decks in the Optical Radio studio, we’re just gonna focus on the music and have some fun playing Techno. We hope you enjoy the show!!!

Jeff Amadeus grew up in Paris, listening to Rap, Ragga and all types of dance music in the early 90s. In 1994 he was inspired by the Dutch Hardcore, which he heard for the first time watching the Thunderdome Compilations on French TV Channels. This was the moment that Jeff got bitten by the the Hardcore/Gabba bug. He was fascinated by this heavy music, which inspired him to become to become a DJ.

After living for years in Paris/France, he moved to Geneva/Switzerland where he started to play House music and got his first experiences playing at local clubs and parties. The stay in Geneva was not for long, because he soon realised that he wanted to go to London, the dance capital of Europe.

On his arrival to London in 1998, he finally found the music that fitted his personality the best: Techno. With all its flavours, he found this sound very powerful combining house grooves and hardcore elements all in one form. He also discovered great DJs such as Carl Cox, Mark Williams, Ben Simms, The Liberators and Dave Clark, who all gave him the inspiration to play and produce dance music. He felt that Techno gave him a voice, a direction and a lifestyle.

In 2000, Jeff formed Squat Records, a label project from him to all the real Techno Lovers. This record label became very popular on the underground scene with 7 releases.

Following this, he soon released tracks on established underground labels such as Industrial Strength, Cluster Records, Stay Up Forever, Hydraulix Records, Teknik, Polymeric, Men In Motion, Vox Populis, Hurricane, Know Records, Artillery Records, Guild Records and Fenek Records. His tracks have also appeared on many DJ cd mix compilations.

Jeff Amadeus as a DJ is famous for his meticulous and exciting mixing skills using 3 decks, mixing up many styles of music: Techno (acid/deep/dark/funky/cluby/minimal/hard/industrial), House (tec/tribal/funky), Trance (melodic/hard), Hardcore (gabba), Drum&Bass, Zouk (from West Indies).

Over the last decade, Jeff has been in demand and his excellent DJ skills have taken him all over the world, playing in many places such as France, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Brazil, Japan, USA, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Morocco, UK, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Netherlands, Switzerland (Zurich)… and many underground and illegal squat parties in London.

The Rebel Yelle Show – from the Stay Up Forever Collective – kicks off every month with a 2 hour live show on the first Friday of the month, 9pm-11pm, spinning a sonic feast of electronic dance music for all you new and old skool ravers.
Celebrating 25 years of DJ-ing and the explosion of acid house onto the London underground scene, expect to hear some old skool acid house & rave classics mixed up with all things acid, house, techno, plus loads more electronic delights in between.
Over the months, Gizelle will also be inviting like-minded underground dj friends to come and play their own style of dance music to keep you entertained and inspired along the way.The Rebel Yelle Show wil be recorded live on the first Friday of each month at Optical Radio, 9pm-11pm, and streamlined every Friday thereafter at the same time.
