As a DJ SpliffyB is a DJ/Producer who plays a very eclectic range of music from blues to Gabber. He is known for playing gems that are lesser known as well as well known classics.
30th September 2022 saw Spliffy B’s 22nd year since he promoted & played his first event. During this time he has played with various very well established DJs. As a promotor he likes to push new DJs as well DJs who are well known within the underground scene.
Spliffy has had several releases, most notably Planet Techno 11 in 2017 which was a vinyl release where Biri & The Geezer remixed 2 of his tracks and engineered by Sterling Moss. Spliffy has also had releases on Wikid Bones Records, Total Loss records which got into the top 2 on 909London charts. He has also had a release on the now defunct Dutch Trance Records.
DJ Spliffy B started DJing at squat parties in 2000 around Dorset and Hampshire, such as Hursley Fields. He then started playing in clubs in 2002. Between 2002 and 2018 Spliffy was playing in various places mainly in squat parties around UK. In that time he did play a few sets in other countries including Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. In November 2013 Spliffy was ‘Special Guest DJ for Smash Techno in club 414. Spliffy B has also played on Peppermill in Heerlen.
In 2004 Spliffy B amongst other events he was promoting he promoted DNA with DJ Slimz. DNA was a hard house and drum n bass event based in the Firestation in Dorchester, Dorset.
Between 2008 and 2011 due to personal reasons he only played a few sets, one of which was on Weymouth Beach.
After 2015 Spliffy B made a slow shift to focusing more on Online radio due to supporting his late wife ongoing health situation. Spliffy at the moment is completely Online radio, but hopes to venture back into live environments moving forwards.
In 2017 from an idea that was spawned from his late wife to do a techno fundraver. Wayeta, Ronnie Grafter and Spliffy hosted the 1st Sick Beatz Fundraver raising money and awareness of MS Society. This is now an annual event in November which is extremely well supported.
Over the years as well as playing clubs he has been very active on the online radio circuit. Over the past 15 years it hasn’t been uncommon for him to be playing 3, 4 or even 5 shows a week. At times it has been over 15 in a week!
Currently Spliffy B has residencies for Mix Hit Radio, Dirty As Funk, Reykjavik Undergound, FOD, Beyond Control, TNZN plus more plus regular guest DJ sets most notably on Open Source. Spliffy B also promotes events currently Acid Assault which covers all areas of Acid, and Rebellion Techno covering various areas of Techno. For the past 4 years Spliffy B has been running multigenre evening radio shows on Tuesday Evenings on Mix Hit Radio.
He has also been ‘Special guest’ at the highly regarded Smash Techno (November 2013), Club 414, Brixton. and has recently played in Homegrown, in Bar Iguana & Facebar
