DJ Kenny Mulligan

Kenny Mulligan born in the south side of Glasgow Rutherglen,Scotland, UK, started experimenting with noise from an early age where i was usually found wiring up bits of equipment , usually playing older friends and family members psychedelic and avant garde ,psyche rock until i discovered electro and hip hop, i started DJ’ing in the early 80’s with hip hop , at the age of 12 influenced by Kraftwerk ,can ,Jarre and the early electro sounds coming from the USA in the 80’s ,DJing at local youth clubs with a blend of abstract 60’s and electronica before moving to london ,I became involved with the early acid house movement and went out raving in 1988,i also lived quite high up so i could receive all the pirate radio stations in London,so i took notes and also purchased a set of Technics 1210’s, after spending days in record shops in London buying latest Acid -New Beat -& Techno I eventually returned to Glasgow around 1989, where i was given my first DJ set with Colin *& Mel Barr at the Batcave and sub club under 18’s as they couldn’t believe this young kid from south side came back with some gems ,then i went on to play harder and deeper acid & techno from Europe i played Industria , the Mardi gras , hacienda (Glasgow ), and other nights in and around Scotland, returning back to London and i found myself a regular in the free party scene 92> various squat party’s and industrial buildings where I progressed more into the sound of European techno ,and of course the birth of UK Acid Techno, sound systems in UK ,not DJ’ing in them all ,but attending some of the best party’s -big shout out to virus sound system , Jiba, vox populi, insanity, Large Sallad Discoteque , Liberators , Spiral Tribe , Exodus Collective,Immersion , and many many more who kept me moving .t .Now over the last few years ive been playing party’s such as Deep Acid ,Retro Traxx festival ,Pirate Club, and some warehouses in London ,i’ve played on some web radio’s northen underground, stationsonparticulier (Belgium) and a hell of a lot of others , i like raw Techno and dark acid i can play it fast slow ,hard whatever ! … other Names i’ve worked under have been DJ Kinetic -Tripwitch and most recently again an old one i used back in 1990 – Acid Army, soon my own productions will be released under the name Dark Art Masquerade now i co-ordinating The Acid Zone Radio monthly From Belgium and i ma champion of original acid sound of jack and the techno acid sound of Europe and the new acid wave . i hope you enjoy the sounds as much as i do ,! Steve Mills has been described as one of the most killer acid techno DJ’s out there!

Steve started DJ’ing back in 1996 and was soon banging out tunes on infamous, though sadly now defunct, UK pirate radio station Force FM. Steve still rocks it for HUB whenever possible.

Steve Mills was the only DJ to play Acid Techno on the FM dial for over a decade, and has been lucky enough to represent Stay Up Forever Records on air (Stay Up Forever Broadcast Party) as well as in the clubs. He has played alongside Chris Aaron, and Julian Liberator, D.A.V.E The Drummer, Sterling Moss, Ant, Geezer, D.D.R, Rackitt, K.N, amongst many other well respected DJs. Recently, Steve has had great success with his own productions and record labels, working with London legends D.A.V.E The Drummer, Chris Liberator, Sterling Moss, Geezer & Darc Marc as well as his many solo releases which appear on Labels like Wah Wah, Scythe Squadron, Extreme Forces, Flatlife Records, Stay Up Forever Projects, Stay Up Forever, Braingravy Records, Project 303 & Interstate One. DJ ACIDIC,

AKA Matt Dawes, first started mixing soon after attending an illegal rave in 1994. Being totally inspired by what he saw and heard, Matt was quickly hooked into the scene and purchased a pair of turntables to begin teaching himself how to mix on vinyl.

Matt’s career to date has been heavily influenced by the London Techno scene with Acid Techno being his favourite style to DJ, although he is well know across the dance scene for his mixing skills and some amazing sets consisting of Breaks, Psy Trance, Electro and House music.

Matt’s career started to take off in the year 2000 when he was given the opportunity to showcase his skills at Lunacy. Since then he has been booked by numerous clubs in the South West, London and Sheffield, and is well known for his unique ability to seamlessly blend one track into the next while never losing sight of the effect his mixing has with club goers. Consistently perfecting his technical skills and creating some fantastic sets with various effects sees him regularly whip the crowds up into a frenzy.

Following his success at Lunacy, Matt quickly gained a residency spot at Oblivious as well as securing regular sets at Acid Test, Homegrown, Species, Cyberdog, Beats Reality, Underground City, Tribe of Frog, Antiworld, Wonka Vision, Excessive and Shroom to name but a few! A massive highlight in Matt’s DJing career has to be performing on the Arcadia stage at the Glade festival in 2009.

In between mixing and music production DJ Acidic is also the founder and promoter of ACIDIC, Bristols leading bi-annual underground techno event which takes place at AREA 81, The Packhorse. It’s one of Bristols best kept secret venues run by the Hells Angels. The ACIDIC nights are legendary and are now running into their 13th year with the next event planned for April 2015 with a line up as fat as they come.

As if this doesn’t keep him busy enough, DJ Acidic is also the creative founder of The Rave Yard @ Boomtown Fair. The Rave Yard started as a micro venue with a 5K Sound system hidden away in the woods, but due to the popularity of the music that Matt is pushing and the DJs that he is booking, this is all set to change. 2015 will see Matt working in close collaboration with festival creators to pave the way to create the largest Acid Techno stage the UK’s festival circuit has ever witnessed!!! With a line up in 2015 which will blow away the cobwebs and be a treat for all techno loving enthusiasts.

When not performing, he spends his spare time in the studio creating his own music… with collaborations due for digital release later this year with the likes of Acid Ted on Acid Test. Matt is also starting to collaborate with the other DJs and producers and we hope to see more tunes released in 2015 with the likes of Cyber Steve and Dynamic Intervention ….Matt is also starting a label under the name of Acid Wav Records so what more is there to say other than watch this space….. Hope to see you on the dance floor!

For all dj bookings please contact: Matt on email: matt@djacidic.co.uk
