Black Asteroid is the brainchild of Bryan Black. Bryan started his career as a sound designer for Prince. While working with Prince at Paisley Park Studios, Bryan learned and honed sound and production skills which inspired him to start his own band. Bryan moved to London England and launched a band called MOTOR. The first MOTOR demo was quickly signed to Novamute. After 2 singles, MOTOR were cata- pulted to the top of the techno world, sharing stages with Daft Punk and Kraftwerk at major festivals, and later embarking on a World tour supporting Depeche Mode in 2009.

In early 2011, Bryan decided to start Black Asteroid to showcase an exciting new sound. It was time re-capture the techno world. The debut ‘The Engine EP’ is the first release out now on CLR. The Engine EP has since topped the charts and is regarded as one of the most daring and successful techno releases of 2011.

Dave Clarke, who already played an early demo of the Engine EP long before it came out, contributed a highly energetic remix for the peak time moments of the night. His take on Engine 1 is called “Unsubscribe Remix” and was produced by himself and Mr. Jones. The Engine remix EP was subsequently released and Black Asteroid quickly found himself on a World tour. Before and after gigs, Bryan started crafting exciting new material to follow up on the success of Engine 1 and Engine 2. Get ready for the next chapter.

One year since its re-emergence GENER8R is back again to bring you more fat stacks than you can twerk your cheeks at! Just as before all proceeds made will be going towards our obscene link-up at Frenchtek and anyone that was there last year knows the money was well spent! In an effort to squeeze as many speakers into the swan as possible once again the main room will be hosting an almighty soundclash with noisy old boys Irritant and their regular partners in crime BBL vs two of the systems making some serious sound waves on the scene at the moment; Subliminal and Requiem!

Next door original Gener8r creators T.O.S.S.E.R.S and north Bristol tekno boys Unknown will be ramming the tunnel with as much Thunderidge as they can squeeze in while still leaving room for the ravers, while upstairs Kaotik, 4bidden and Jigsore’s finest battle it out for Dj supremacy.

Obviously this being Gener8r every spare inch not filled with speakers will be covered in the best underground decor, lights, lasers and visuals, along with performers, fire, live graffiti and stalls from Sika, Rudecat and Skunkworks Bristol outside.

This Gener8r will also be a bit of a birthday bonanza as we’ll be helping Lxp Bristol, Matthew Kore, Traffiz Perkins and Ross May celebrate getting that little bit older and none the wiser, see if you can spot them on the front of the flyer! Anyone else who’s birthday is either on the 22nd or 23rd, send us proof and you’ll also get free entry…but we’re not putting you on the flyer as the poor porg is already overworked and underpaid, so don’t ask

Spliffy B

DJ Spliffy B started DJing at squat parties in 2000 around Dorset and Hampshire, such as Hursley Fields. He then started playing in clubs in 2002. Between 2002 and 2008 Spliffy was playing in various places mainly in squat parties around UK. In that time he did play a few sets in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium

In 2004 Spliffy B amongst other events he was promoting he promoted DNA with DJ Slimz. DNA was a hard house and drum n bass event based in the Firestation in Dorchester, Dorset.

Between 2008 and 2011 due to personal reasons he only played a few sets, one of which was on Weymouth Beach.

In 2011 he played a set in Netherlands. Since then Spliffy B has started promoting and DJing again. Spliffy B is currently a resident of Acid909, Yes yes y’all (Hip Hop Event), Liquid Filth (Liquid – filthy Drum n bass and borders on Breakcore) & Urban Chill (Live acoustic event with a blues\jazz\folk influence). He has also been ‘Special guest’ at the highly regarded Smash Techno (November 2013), Club 414, Brixton.

He promoted and played at Liquid Filth at Bar Iguana, Reading with Slimz, DJ Fiber and MiNoR cOnFuSiOn. Spliffy B has supported several International DJs, most recently Rachel Rackitt, Steve Mills, Gizelle Rebel Yelle, and highly regarded DJs on the London underground seen like Birinight, Miro to name a few.

Spliffy B also was actively playing at the open Decks night at Bar Iguana where they had such names as Seriel Killaz & Dutty Moonshine

Spliffy B has played many clubs around Reading and these include Bar Iguana, Facebar and Brasserie La Passerelle\Bridges

GG Angus

GG Angus has been mixing music for 5 years now, he plays a mixture of genre’s but is one half of the resident djs of the yes yes ya’ll night, he played in q bar, bar iguana, bridges and numerous houseparties. on new years he offers a mixture of u.k and american hip hop to bop around to before the real filth gets going. Watch out for his new up coming event called Goose swing
