The duo of Mark EG and D.A.V.E. The Drummer represents something bigger than just making techno tracks together, it is a philosophical statement about the future of art and culture, combined with the early stages of AI. Mark finished a degree course last year and has now undertaken a masters degree in the philosophy of learning and music, this explores AI in depth with its increasing influence on the world of music. Is it a good thing? Do AI influences help us, or will it lead to us churning out bland identikit music? As AI learns the basics of the art but not the subtle differences between what makes something good and interesting and what makes something dull and repetitive, does AI have a real future in the world of art or not? Both Mark and D.A.V.E. are now whats called veterans of the UK techno scene, theyve both been involved in electronic music for over 20 years and both are still busy gigging as DJs and working as music producers/teachers and label managers. This E.P. represents their love for electronic music, techno music in its purest form. It is not trying to play up to the hype charts, or follow the march of ridiculous new social media trends, it is just trying to tell a story with a human touch, using machines as the voice.
