If you are into the harder end of Techno Music, you may have already come across one of D.A.V.E. The Drummer’s records.

Hailing from the London illegal warehouse party scene that exploded in the 90’s, DJ & producer D.A.V.E. The Drummer started the techno label Hydraulix as an output for his own production ideas. The label intended to bridge the gap between the Acid Techno of his previous productions and a darker form of techno that D.A.V.E. was experimenting with in the studio.

Hydraulix made some big waves in the Hard Techno scene throughout the 2000’s and is still going strong with many of the new releases hitting the top spots in the Beatport Hard Techno Charts.

Tracks from Hydraulix have found their way into the playlists of some of the worlds top DJs as well as keeping a huge following of underground Techno DJs across the globe.

D.A.V.E’s recent music reflects a shift toward a darker stripped back techno sound and the label is still at the forefront of the techno scene winning respect from many DJs and taking on board fresh young artists as well as releasing tracks by seasoned Hydraulix regulars.

Still a hard working DJ and Producer, D.A.V.E. The Drummer is responsible for remixes and productions for many great techno labels including Stay Up Forever, Cluster Smitten, Routemaster, Pounding Grooves, Fine Audio, Eukatech, Noom, Reklusive, Naked Lunch, Phobiq, Elektrax, Resiliant, Refined Format, Techburst and of course Hydraulix, Apex Recordings and Mutate To Survive.

Acid Junkies is a dance act from The Netherlands. Their music is all about having fun: nowadays the only motivation for them is that they enjoy making the music and playing it for a crowd. The do not conform to any hipster styles or fashion, they just make and play the music they like. Live, they present themselves with a mix of solid techno music, played live and edited and enhanced with fragments of all kinds of dance music, spanning the last 20 years. From synthi-disco, via EBM towards house and techno.

Releases
On singles and albums, the band’s music has gone through a comparable evolution: Having started with the purest acid house music from the USA as a source of inspiration, the Acid Junkies add more and more modern elements to their music over the years. As a result, an entirely new sound has come into existence, both technically and musically. The name of the band might be the only memory of their past, musically speaking the band already steps into the future.

Acid Junkies story
The Acid Junkies started in 1992 as producer Stefan Robbers’ solo project. It was his way of saying ‘thanks’ to all the originators from Chicago that injected such large doses of psychedelia into house music. The Part 1 EP on Eindhoven1s famous Djax-Up-Beats label became an instant success and soon the Acid Junkies were a real band.

His partner in crime for this operation is Harold de Kinderen, who provided Stefan with the Roland TB 303 he used for the first Acid Junkies EP and who has been a full band member since that day. Harold used to be a DJ for a drive-in show and played drums in various local bands.

The Future
The style of music varies, but is mostly targeted at a dance floor audience. Ranging from old skool acid bleeps to high tech electro with a scent of industrial and EBM-Body music, they can go anywhere they want with this label and that is exactly why they founded it. Currently new releases are planed on Acid Tracks (Germany) and Acidworx (Japan)

Biography
Ceephax Acid Crew (often simply credited as Ceephax) is a British acid house, and drum and bass electronic musician named Andy Jenkinson. Jenkinson is also known simply by the pseudonym Ceephax, which is a pun on the BBC teletext service Ceefax. He is..
Ceephax’s music between 1998 and 2003 took the sonic styles of vintage Roland drum machines TR-909, TR-606, Roland synthesizers TB-303, SH-101, Korg MS-20, and a Roland MSQ-700 sequencer. This music was recorded onto a 4-track cassette tape deck. The music was released on vinyl records and cassette tape. This primitive Acid House aesthetic and methodology countered the growing popularity of the computer music and compact disc releases of the time.

In 2003 Ceephax played songs live on BBC radio from a Commodore 64’s SID sound chip, indicating a change in direction from Acid House to Chiptunes. He also releases drum and bass songs made on early Akai samplers with the clichéd and copyrighted “Amen” breakbeat drum sample, again displaying an interest in 1980s and early 1990s dance music.

Andy has collaborated a number of times with his brother Jonny and Phillie T, all members of the Chelmsford Film Society, in comical side projects such as rap outfit The Odd Job Men and improvised blues project The Chelmsford Blues Explosion.

Acid Techno DJ/Producer/Artist : A*S*Y*S

A*S*Y*S (Acid Save Your Soul), is the alias of German producer/DJ Frank Ellrich.

Frank Ellrich has long been an icon of the hard edged scene, however it is his ability to evolve and remain at the very cutting edge that has seen him rise above many of his contemporaries- Frank is unquestionably hard dance royalty. Although cutting his teeth alongside Kai Tracid as part of the Tracid Traxxx mafia, Frank has since spread his wings aligning himself with the Straight On Black crew from Holland. Across his countless productions Frank has assumed a war chest full of guises including Plasmatics, Riddler & Headcrusher, Naiche & Steve K, X-frame plus of course the hugely successful Future Tribes.

First and foremost, A*S*Y*S is known for his revolutionary studio productions- dark acid odysseys which have set dance floors ablaze across the planet. Frank Ellrich is the tormented puppet master behind dozens of eternal classics including Acid Nightmare, Acid Save Your Soul, Age Of Darkness, Acid Headcracker, Theme From Pharmacy and the world conquering No More F*cking Rock & Roll which was one of the highest selling dance releases of 2005 and included an exclusive cut from world number one DJ- Paul Van Dyk.

Not content with such a string of monster hits Frank Ellrichs remix credits read like a trance and techno form guide. Frank has stamped his style onto remixes such as Timo Maas- Maas Mellow, CygnusX- The Orange Theme, Yoji Biomehanika- Remo Con, Tiefenrausch- The Deep Blue and the ultimate hard trance anthem Hennes & Colds The Sound Of Rock.

A natural progression from the success of the studio was for Frank to take the show on the road and take the music to the people. Since 2000 Frank has toured the world headlining major clubs and festivals the world over. His effervescent style of performance has seen A*S*Y*S stage diving in Australia, climbing the rafters in Japan, moshing alongside fans in the UK, dancin Samba in Brasil and playing 100% live in front of tens of thousands of people in Holland.
