About DJ Spliffy B

DJ Spliffy B is a highly experienced DJ and producer with over 24 years in the music industry. He’s known for his wide-ranging sets, playing single genre and multigenre sets with genres like techno, hardcore, gabber, jungle, drum & bass, acid techno and blues. Spliffy B digs deep to unearth hidden gems alongside classics.

Music Production

Spliffy B isn’t just a DJ; he’s a producer with several releases under his belt. His notable works include on Stay Up Forever, Deep Down Dirty Acid releases, Planet Techno 11 a vinyl release featuring remixes by Biri & The Geezer and engineering by Sterling Moss. He has also had releases on labels like Wikid Bones Records and Total Loss Records, hitting the Top 2 on the 909London charts on Wikid Bones/Total Loss.

Early Career & Influences

Spliffy B’s journey began with free parties in Dorset & Hampshire during his time at Southampton Institute. He honed his skills playing diverse sets at clubs and raves, developing a unique style moving between genres. His early influences spanned Acid, hardcore, gabber, jungle, and techno, shaping the eclectic sound he’s known for today.

From Free Parties to Online Radio

Spliffy B has been a constant force in the music scene, playing clubs, festivals, and promoting events like DNA (a hard house and drum & bass night) in Dorchester, Dorset. In 2000s & 2010s he played a few international sets outside of UK, playing in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

After 2015, Spliffy B shifted his focus to online radio, hosting shows on various stations across Europe, America, and Asia. This allowed him to continue sharing his passion for music while supporting his late wife.

Residencies & Events

Currently, Spliffy B holds residencies for Reykjavik Underground & Beyond Control and regularly plays on Glitch Girl Show, Open Source. He’s also a dedicated promoter, organizing events like Acid Assault (showcasing all styles of acid techno), Rebellion Techno, Cybercore (dedicated to hardcore and gabber), and Lucid (celebrating oldskool rave/Acid House/Acid Trance/90s Techno).

Highlights & Achievements

Played at prestigious venues like Smash Techno and Club 414.
Hosted the annual Sick Beatz Fundraver, raising money and awareness for the MS Society.
Interview and guest set on Below Ground
Played at Peppermill, Heerlen
He was regularly features in the Mixcloud charts, with a peak position of #2 on the Detroit Techno chart.
Played at Working Classtonbury Festival and numerous other clubs and festivals.

Playing a mix of US, European and UK techno and electro since way back in the 90’s, London-based Pat Hurley got his first gigs with People 4 People sound system and gone on to play for Unsound, Shtonka, Hardware, The Satellite club, Insanity, Defcom 1, Pendulum, Parallel Youniversity, Megatripolis, Analogue City, Absolute, Redeye, E1 sound, One Louder, Uber, Mindscapes, Techno in the City, Fabric, KSS, Family Groove, Butterfly Effect, Electronic 17, Resonate, Futurist and Cargo, as well as co-promoting events such as Solution, Beyond and pistonTec.

He’s also played all around the UK including the Glastonbury festival and abroad in France, Holland, Italy, Spain and Japan.

He runs the Open Source record label, on which he releases his own productions as well as tracks from artists such as Orlando Voorn, Mike Humphries, Jeff Amadeus and many others

Ceri & Robi most likely won’t need introduction to those familiar with the Welsh Techno scene.

Ceri Lear is part of the S.U.S.S collective (Subversion Underground Sound System) based in Swansea South Wales. He is also a resident DJ and manager at South Wales’s premier techno event Subversion Underground Techno.

Ceri got introduced to the free party and underground techno scene at a very young age regularly attending Teknivals and techno events across the UK from where he picked up his taste for acid /free party Techno and it inspired him to get on the 1210’s and start mixing acid/techno

By the age of 16 Ceri was playing out in basements and free parties across Wales. in 2008 Ceri Suss became residents at Subversion Underground Techno playing alongside the Mighty Dave the Drummer, Chris Liberator, Ant, DDR, Geezer, Mark EG, A.P, Dare and Haste just to name a few.

Soon he became popular with the local free party sound systems(FRU)(TOOTH DUST)(SECTION 64)(F.O.O.F.O.)(UNISONAL SOUNDS)(VORTEX SOUNDS)(UNKNOWN) and are known for their hard techno /acid sound Playing epic sets System feedback reboot Cardiff/Gener8r/Keep Bristol Techno/Brothers Grimm in Bristol /Smash Techno London /Surplus Festival/Incubator/Working Classtonbury and more

He has also had tracks released on labels such as Cluster/Cluster 909/Skuxx/Filth Infatuated/Structures/Naked lunch/Alliance 303 Digi/RAW909/SUF Super LTD/Disturbo

S.U.S.S

Robi s.u.s.s aka Robert Lear is part of the S.U.S.S collective (subversion underground sound system) based in Swansea South Wales. he ran/promoted and was also a resident of south Wales’s premier techno event Subversion Underground Techno.

He got introduced to the free party and underground techno scene at a very young age regularly attending Teknivals and techno events across the UK from where he picked up his taste for the free party Techno scene/sound and it inspired him to get on the 1210’s and start mixing acid/techno .

By the age of 16 he was playing out in basements and free parties across Wales.

In 2008 he became a resident at subversion underground techno playing alongside the mighty Slam, Harvey Mckay, Dave the Drummer, Chris Liberator, Ant, DDR, Mark EG just to name a few.

Soon he became popular with the local free party sound systems and promoters for his techno/hard techno and acid sets. Playing epic sets @ Subversion ,Sub Hard Sessions, Smash Techno, System Feedback, s,w,a,d,e, Evolve, Reboot and Gener8r.

Recently moving in to production he has been driven by the influences of Stayup Forever, Jeff Mills, A.Paul, Speedy J, Alan Fitzpatrik, Torsten Kanzler and many other top underground DJ’s and producers.

He has also had release’s on Audioworx- 11, Naked Lunch- 190D , Structures vol 22, Parralell 125, Filth Infatuated Subversion e.p plus lots of release’s up and coming for the future.
