He then went on to play wrong speed hardstyle and techno as co-founder and resident at Energycore before taking a long break in 2007.\nInspired by the Hard Trance Experience Facebook group in 2019 he dusted off the turntables and began mixing again\, mainly focusing once again on Acid NRG and Techno. In 2020 he joined Safehouse Radio with a 2 hour monthly show encompassing the whole spectrum of hard dance with guest mixes and original shows as well as playing at live stream events during lockdown for the South West based crew Noise Pollution. He is known for playing gems that are lesser known as well as well known classics.\n30th September 2022 saw Spliffy B’s 22nd year since he promoted & played his first event. During this time he has played with various very well established DJs. As a promotor he likes to push new DJs as well DJs who are well known within the underground scene.\nSpliffy has had several releases\, most notably Planet Techno 11 in 2017 which was a vinyl release where Biri & The Geezer remixed 2 of his tracks and engineered by Sterling Moss. Spliffy has also had releases on Wikid Bones Records\, Total Loss records which got into the top 2 on 909London charts. He has also had a release on the now defunct Dutch Trance Records.\nDJ Spliffy B started DJing at squat parties in 2000 around Dorset and Hampshire\, such as Hursley Fields. He then started playing in clubs in 2002. Between 2002 and 2018 Spliffy was playing in various places mainly in squat parties around UK. In that time he did play a few sets in other countries including Germany\, Netherlands and Belgium. In November 2013 Spliffy was ‘Special Guest DJ for Smash Techno in club 414. Spliffy B has also played on Peppermill in Heerlen.\nIn 2004 Spliffy B amongst other events he was promoting he promoted DNA with DJ Slimz. DNA was a hard house and drum n bass event based in the Firestation in Dorchester\, Dorset.\nBetween 2008 and 2011 due to personal reasons he only played a few sets\, one of which was on Weymouth Beach.\nAfter 2015 Spliffy B made a slow shift to focusing more on Online radio due to supporting his late wife ongoing health situation. Spliffy at the moment is completely Online radio\, but hopes to venture back into live environments moving forwards.\nIn 2017 from an idea that was spawned from his late wife to do a techno fundraver. Wayeta\, Ronnie Grafter and Spliffy hosted the 1st Sick Beatz Fundraver raising money and awareness of MS Society. This is now an annual event in November which is extremely well supported.\nOver the years as well as playing clubs he has been very active on the online radio circuit. Over the past 15 years it hasn’t been uncommon for him to be playing 3\, 4 or even 5 shows a week. At times it has been over 15 in a week!\nCurrently Spliffy B has residencies for Mix Hit Radio\, Dirty As Funk\, Reykjavik Undergound\, FOD\, Beyond Control\, TNZN plus more plus regular guest DJ sets most notably on Open Source. Spliffy B also promotes events currently Acid Assault which covers all areas of Acid\, and Rebellion Techno covering various areas of Techno. They have sold out events in countries including Australia\, Japan and Brazil with their live show\, their remixes of Sicknote\, Tribazik\, The Dice\, Miss Djax & Patrick DSP and Dynamo City’s ‘One Night In Hackney’ are universally acclaimed\, and their genre defining hits including: ‘Scum Like Us’\, ‘Croydon Girl’\, ‘Punk Attitude’\, ‘I’m Bored’\, ‘Acid Techno Wah Wah’ and ‘Massive Line’ will be making waves for years to come. In conjunction with SUF\, Hydraulix & LWE\, Sterling was also part of the team who promoted the groundbreaking ‘London Underground United’ events\, which sent shockwaves through the capital’s party scene\, rocking the city to its core. \nNever one to be tied to a single genre\, Sterling has also been working under the name ‘Reverend Rockwell’ for the last few years\, fusing Blues music with electronic rhythms to create what has become known as ‘Electro Blues’. Noted to be one of the originators of this sound\, The Reverend has been recording with distinguished Blues musicians around the world on this new and exciting collaborative movement and has been touring a live show with gigs at Glastonbury and London Remixed Festival. \n‘E.S.C.’ is another alias Sterling has recorded under as part of ‘The Boardroom’ collective with Steve Boardman. Their work saw its way onto two highly acclaimed collaborative albums with Andrew Weatherall\, which received rave reviews from the music press. The collective also played live at some of the world’s most prestigious venues including London’s ‘Fabric’ & Berlin’s ‘Panorama Bar’. \nThe ‘Sound Lab’ studio is the nerve centre for Sterling’s production work\, but he also worked extensively alongside Roland Synthesisers Japan as an official programmer on their MC-909 Groovebox\, after they were impressed with his use of their vintage TR-909 drum machine. He has also released two sample packs with Chris Liberator through New York’s Industrial Strength Records\, which contain a wide-ranging palette of sonic tools for up and coming producers to utilise. \nWhile constantly striving to innovate with his productions and DJ’ing\, Sterling Moss always looks to explore new musical territories and ideas\, while relentlessly touring his compelling sound around the globe.
