Keep your ear to the dance floor and listen out for Trooper’s unique energy and sounds. \nOver the past 10 years\, Trooper has gone from raver on the dance floor to playing on many sound systems including Freebase\, E1S\, Malfaiteurs\, Manik\, Storm\, Hackney Sounds and plays regularly on the Stinky Pink\, Hub and Krysis rigs as resident DJ storming the dance floor with his own take on Acid Techno\, also enjoying pushing the speakers to the limits on various rigs at Frenchtek dropping the beats that captured his heart all those years ago. But with Trooper’s personal history of dance music and broad musical knowledge\, you can also hear him playing a broad spectrum of sounds such as Old Skool 91/92 Rave\, Hardcore\, Jungle\, Drum & Bass\, Progressive House\, Acid House\, Breakbeat and Electro. \nBut Trooper’s journey with dance music began in 1991 when he was just 16 years of age and was taken out by some older mates to legendary raves such as Elevation\, Dance 91\, Raindance\, Fantazia\, Yikes and Interdance\, as well as Spiral Tribal and Bedlam sound system parties on the underground free party scene. \nThe next year\, he was introduced to mixing vinyl on the 1210’s by DJ SDR\, owner of Shoebox Records. From that point\, there was no turning back. \nIn 1994\, Trooper started getting involved with the local music scene and began working at Ruffhouse Records in Slough\, who ran Menace sound system. \nAlways up for a party\, he was given the title nickname ‘Trooper’. He was always the last man standing\, shortly establishing his turntable skills as ‘DJ Trooper’ on the underground party circuit\, playing Jungle and Drum & Bass at parties in London and the South East. \nMusic House in Holloway Road\, London\, played a big part in Trooper’s life. Top Drum & Bass DJ’s went there regularly to cut their latest tracks onto dub plate fresh for the weekend raves. Trooper got involved distributing the ‘Ravescene’ magazine and writing party reviews for raves such as Telepathy\, AWOL\, Roast\, Innersense and Jungle Fever. \nTrooper and fellow music comrade\, DJ SDR\, started the record label ‘Freestyle Flava’ in 1996\, experimenting with different styles and beats in the studio under the guise ‘Point 2’. They produced some rockers including ‘Wait 1 Minute’\, which was featured on Tony de Vit’s ‘Live in Tokyo’ album. In the studio\, they wrote Trip Hop and Broken Beats inspired by Ninja Tune club nights at the legendary Blue Note in Hoxton\, London. \nAfter taking a few years out at the end of the 90’s\, Trooper returned to the dance floor in the new millennium and got involved with the Hard House scene. The hard beats and vibes reignited the fire in his rave heart\, but something was definitely missing until he discovered the underground London squat party Techno scene and from that point it was full steam ahead. \nSo keep your ear to the dance floor and listen out for Trooper’s unique energy and sounds. \n————————————————————————— \nThe Rebel Yelle show is recorded live on the first Friday of the month 9pm-11pm and then repeated every Friday same time during the rest of the month and on Wednesdays 5pm-7pm. DESCRIPTION:Pat Hurley presents the first Wired show of 2015 on RRR mixing upfront techno electro & old skool plus welcoming very special guest DJ Kenny Mulligan delivering what will be a quality set in his own style that is not to be missed. \nTune in\, turn on\, turn it up! \nwww.soundcloud.com/pathurley\nwww.soundcloud.com/kennymulligan \n————————————————————————\nDJ Kenny Mulligan \nKenny Mulligan born in the south side of Glasgow Rutherglen\,Scotland\, UK\, started experimenting with noise from an early age where i was usually found wiring up bits of equipment \, usually playing older friends and family members psychedelic and avant garde \,psyche rock until i discovered electro and hip hop\, i started DJ’ing in the early 80’s with hip hop \, at the age of 12 influenced by Kraftwerk \,can \,Jarre and the early electro sounds coming from the USA in the 80’s \,DJing at local youth clubs with a blend of abstract 60’s and electronica before moving to london \,I became involved with the early acid house movement and went out raving in 1988\,i also lived quite high up so i could receive all the pirate radio stations in London\,so i took notes and also purchased a set of Technics 1210’s\, after spending days in record shops in London buying latest Acid -New Beat -& Techno I eventually returned to Glasgow around 1989\, where i was given my first DJ set with Colin *& Mel Barr at the Batcave and sub club under 18’s as they couldn’t believe this young kid from south side came back with some gems \,then i went on to play harder and deeper acid & techno from Europe i played Industria \, the Mardi gras \, hacienda (Glasgow )\, and other nights in and around Scotland\, returning back to London and i found myself a regular in the free party scene 92> various squat party’s and industrial buildings where I progressed more into the sound of European techno \,and of course the birth of UK Acid Techno\,sound systems in UK \,not DJ’ing in them all \,but attending some of the best party’s -big shout out to virus sound system \, Jiba\, vox populi\, insanity\, Large Sallad Discoteque \, Liberators \, Spiral Tribe \, Exodus Collective\,Immersion \, and many many more who kept me moving .t .Now over the last few years ive been playing party’s such as Deep Acid \,Retro Traxx festival \,Pirate Club\,and some warehouses in London \,i’ve played on some web radio’s northen underground\,stationsonparticulier (Belgium) and a hell of a lot of others \, i like raw Techno and dark acid i can play it fast slow \,hard whatever ! … other Names i’ve worked under have been DJ Kinetic -Tripwitch and most recently again an old one i used back in 1990 – Acid Army\,soon my own productions will be released under the name Dark Art Masquerade now i co-ordinating The Acid Zone Radio monthly From Belgium and i ma champion of original acid sound of jack and the techno acid sound of Europe and the new acid wave . i hope you enjoy the sounds as much as i do \,!
